Norfolk & Western #611

This is the last of the N & W “J” class steam locomotives.  This engine was built in 1950 and was used primarily for passenger service.  It could pull 15 passenger cars at speeds up to 110 MPH.  Still operational, it sits in the Virginia Transportation Museum in Roanoke.
