Screech Owl
Birds & wildlifeThe screech owl is one of the smallest owls at 9″ in length. It is relatively common around my home in North Carolina and does not migrate.
high-key cardinal
Birds & wildlifeI sort of like this high-key, minimalistic, type of photo. Maybe a bit of oriental simplicity? Diffusion was added in the post processing to soften up the subject.

Flying Tiger
Birds & wildlifeThe Great Horned Owl is fearless and will attack and kill skunks, porcupines, and even small coyotes. It has excellent hearing and can hear a mouse moving under 12 inches of snow. It’s flight is totally silent due to ragged wing feathers that are ruffled on the ends. Flying Tiger is a well chosen nickname for this nocturnal hunter.
