Custom House
Architecture

Construction on the US Custom House in Charleston, SC, began in 1853 and was then halted in 1859 due mostly to the Civil War. Construction resumed in 1870 and was completed in 1879. It is still used today by several federal agencies.

Landscapes & vistas, miscellaneousThese old ore carts are reminders of the gold mining towns in the Western U.S. during the 1800’s. This image was taken last year at a ghost town in southwestern Montana. Processing was done to achieve an “older” photo look.
The Root Cellar
ArchitectureThis root cellar is from the 1870’s. The only lighting for the photo was the two small upper windows on the right side of the room. This fisheye view was a five shot blended HDR with the longest exposure being about 4 minutes. Olympus OMD with 7.5mm lens.
Re-visiting Glade Creek Grist Mill

Although now a ghost town, Bannack was once a vibrant gold mining center and the first capitol of the State of Montana. It has been pretty much untouched in 125 years. This photo was processed to resemble an antique image of the early 1900’s.
