I live in Suburban Charlotte – lots of people, cars, and dogs in my neighborhood – yet this little fellow showed up about 3:00 this afternoon.  I also saw his mama on the other side of my fence.  The little fawn stuck around in my yard for 4 or 5 minutes before jumping the fence and rejoining mom.  Makes your heart smile!!

Screech Owl

The screech owl is one of the smallest owls at 9″ in length.  It is relatively common around my home in North Carolina and does not migrate.
